Homemade Rat Cage - Guinea Pig Cages

Cool! I want rats too!

Thats nice, Rats are cute, but I cant get any right now.

This is a huge cage! Great job! I am pretty sure you know but there is one sitting outside the cage, (laugh out loud)! Cute! How do you open it?

The two long panels with vertical wires on the front are doors. I also made it so you can fully open both front panels for easy cleaning.

Cages are wayyyy too expensive. Your cage is nice, but it seems heavy. Is it heavy? If it is heavy, do you ever clean the entire cage, not just the levels, and the pan?

The cage is heavy with the top on, but I made it so that the top can easily be removed by one person and then the rest of the cage folds up. I clean the entire cage every week by opening up the entire front, removing the bottom bin, and walking inside and wiping it down with a soapy cloth and then a rinse cloth. It takes me about 10 minutes to clean the entire cage. Also, I made it for about $100.00.

THAT is one excellent cage! I would LOVE to see how the doors open up, do they swing or slide open?
