2nd floor in progress - Guinea Pig Cages

Do not add another pig unless you expand the cage size. This cage is too small for another addition. Although, it seems to be a pretty nice set up so far I suggest you put his house in the litterbox or the litterbox won't do any good. They tend to urinate and drop feces in their houses.


WHERE IS THE HAY?!?!?! :O

The hay and the water is in a ball under the 2nd floor. There is also hay in the litter box on top, and I have added my ramp. According to my calculations, a 2x3 (27x41 = 7.6875 sq ft.) plus a 1x2 (13x27 = 2.435) is more than the 7.5 ft. minimum for 2 guinea pigs. Unless I'm misunderstanding something? I'm also thinking about making the 2nd floor a 1x3 and turning it the other way.

The house in the litter box is a good idea. Although for some reason, whichever side I put the litter box on, he uses the opposite side. :yawn:

I have just built the exact same cage and also wondering about a ramp type of thing. Let me know what you ended up using! I'm also getting 2 pigs soon and am hoping that this is big enough! If not, I can always go higher! Any thoughts?
