First off, neutering is supposed to be really bad for guinea pigs. It can even result in death!
That goes for pregnancy too! The babies are born will all their fur and ready to run, so it puts alot of pressure on the sow. Just separate them, keep an eye on her, and don't even consider neutering him!

Neutering is not bad if you have a good vet who has done many successful surgeries.

Oh, the thing is that Arya is ok, but Chrome is lighter than that. Anyway he seems ok. Well be a bit more generous with him.

Thanks for your interest. The fact is that the vet we are going to visit (we want to talk to him before proceeding) is an exotic pets vet. We will ask him all the questions sufgested at guinea Lynx in order to be confident.

This vet is supposed to be the most specialised in exotic pets in all catalonia (and one of the best in Spain...)

Again, thanks a lot for you interest @lisie.

Ok, so right now i got home. The food contained in the pellets is:

Fescue hay
Alfalfa
Oats and ryegrass sundried
dandelion
wheat flakes
barely flakes
corn flakes
spinach
red pepper
zuchini
aspargus
carrot
tomato
peach
kiwi
apple

It's strange that having apple and spinachs (high calcium I think) it shos it has less than 0.25%calcium.

Anyone knows if this could be a good pellet? Details on nutritional value are shown upper in this post.

Thanks in advance

She could be pregnant, but unless you want to pay the vet for an ultrasound or an x-ray, you won't know for sure until she's about six weeks along. You can feel the pups moving then.

Those aren't great pellets, but they may be the best you can find where you are. Ideally, what you want is a pellet that is mostly hay, with vitamins and minerals added. And like you, I wonder whether that calcium assay is accurate, especially since alfalfa is one of the main ingredients. I think I'd look for better pellets if I could.

OMG O-M-G! I'm pretty sure that Arya is pregnant! I'm quite sure I noticed something moving in her belly (¿gas?)... Don't knowif I could notice that instead of babies but it was a preety hard lumb moving inside her... Concerning her weight:
5/24 - 554 g
5/25 - 548 g
5/26 - 581 g
5/27 - 580 g
5/28 - 609 g
(sry for the texting but only way to be clear was like this)
The thing is that she doesn't refuse to be picken up, but she drinks A LOT (maybe ~500 mL a day). Also eats a lot... and poo a lot -.-'

Does it look like a pregnant? Atm heading to guinealynx to check times of pregnancy, feeding etc etc...
EDIT: She is about 3-4 months old

The thing is that we suspect she got pregnant in the shop... Now I know where we have a gp shelter but not then.

Another point is that in the shop males and females where together and were two months old... At least that's what we were told

Ok, news. Today we are going to drive to Barcelona (70 km from us) with Arya and Chrome to visit the specialised vet. We will have clear info about their gender, and, most important, we will know if Arya is pregnant. Probably going to take an ecography or an x-ray (we were told that it won't affect her pregnancy). We are really nervous... We will post any info and test done at that vet today in about 8 hours. Gosh, NERVOOOOOOUS!!!!

Ty Rywen. As soon as we have news we will post it here today. But we are really scared: if she has two pups and both are females, we can asume to have them. We also found a girl who in the weekends helps at an animal rescue center. She might take one pup. We don't even consider the idea of giving the puppies to a shop or an irresponsible person. But we don't know what to do if she is taking a big pregnancy, like 4-5 kids... :( On the other hand, Arya is black and white... With some gray hair... Could she be carrying a lethal? We read about it here and it scares us a lot.

Try not to worry, it's not anything you have control over at this point. It sounds like you may have some solutions to rehoming any pups so that's a good start.

Hi all, heavy news, Arya is pregnant, confirmed by the vet. We made an ecography and she probably has 3 pups. As soon as the vet sends the images and video of the ecography I'll send or link it in thus forum. On the other hand, next week we're gonna neuter Chrome. The vet asked to keep him for one day to ensure he is ready to go home after the neutering. Another thing is that the vet had timothy hay (yay!). We will probably divide this thread into to threads, one for the Neutering of chrome and one for Arya as a mummy. Atm we are looking for done responsible adoptive family for the puppies. PD: All the pups look alive and kicking!!

Well it's good that everyone (including the pups) is healthy! Ferb's vet kept him overnight after his neuter, she said to make sure he was eating enough and often enough and to observe for any post op complications. Thankfully he did great. Even after Chome is neutered he will need to be kept away from Arya for a few weeks until all of the sperm have died off. Good luck, I can't wait to see pictures of the ecography
