hamsters life span

how do you ppl deal with losing a pet every 4-5 years witch is a hamsters lifespan ? doesnt it make you not to get one ?

No it's more of a guinea pig forum but a lot of people here also have other pets like rabbits chinchillas and hamsters. I've only had guinea pigs so I won't be much help on Hamsters.

I've heard that as well that hamsters live on average of 1.5-3 years.
