My male, Josh, has been wheezing a little bit, and also sort or coughing after he eats. Its sort of an 'ack' sound and I can't really describe it. And his wheezing, is like he has something in his throat, its been going on for a while now, should I be worried?

It sounds like he's just eating too quickly in regards to coughing after he eats, but if you're hearing a wheezing sound often, he should see a vet.

I agree. Wheezing isn't normal and needs to be checked out.

He should see an exotics vet, he could have something stuck in his throat or a lung infection.

To add on from earlier, finding an Exotic specialist in the UK can be hard, so use (broken link removed) this page (it says 'avian' in the link but it's for avian and exotic specialists) to locate one in your area :) However not all exotics are listed there, for example my vet specialises in exotics and isn't listed, so google your area too.

Thanks everyone for your help, it seemed to calm down today but I will still checked it out. Sky needs her nails clipped so I will take him there. The vets is Alder veterinary center. They say they treat 'children's pets' I'm guessing this isn't a exotic vet. I'll keep you updated

Ah, so you're in Liverpool too! (Same as me). I'd recommend googling to find one, as Liverpool isn't listed on the site I linked. My vet's closer to Lancs so it might be a bit of a long trip for you if you're closer to Alder Hey and that area.

I always figured everything to do with Alder was near Alder Hey hospital, my mistake!
