I just got new dog, Chloe, and she paws the cage, and jumps whenever the guinea pigs run really fast across the cage. It really fascinates her, but when take them out for her to sniff them, she sniffs them, then gets bored. Anyways, every night she just sits there and watches them and paws the cage. It's really loud, and she whimpers when I try to call her over. How can I make her stop and why is she pawing the cage? The guinea pigs don't mind her at all. Thank you!:)

Its because the dog when she sees the guineas running, wants to chase/ catch them. To the dog, they are food on legs.

Just to be safe, I would consider either crating her when she can't be supervised or otherwise gating her away from the cage. It's quite possible that she sees the pigs as prey, and in my opinion a new dog that you don't trust 100% shouldn't be within reach of the cage without you watching.
We have a cover over the cage so that our big dogs can't get them either. Shes a Papillon and sheltie.
