This is for anyone who is getting confused with the breeds and color patterns of guinea pigs. I think I counted 20+ total breeds. Then, I'll move on to the color patterns.
American Shorthair
This breed has short, flat hair with no cow licks or rosettes. They are often recommended for guinea pig rookies as they have easier fur to manage.
American Shorthair Satin The only difference between the American Shorthair Satin and the American Shorthair is that the American Shorthair Satin has a sheen coat that is almost glimmering. This is different than a pig with a
shinier coat; they have a distinct and brilliant shine.
