Vitamin C Pills, Please answer :)

Hello there! so I have a couple questions. My pigs aren't getting enough vitamin C, (due to the fact that they are picky pigs, I ordered these) they came in the mail today, but they wouldn't take them. I chopped the pills into 4ths and they still wouldn't take it. They are from the Dr. Fosters website, and people on here recommended them. I've already tried wrapping the pill in lettuce and giving it to them, but they were clever and sniffed it and only took the lettuce

    1. Could I take the pill, powder it, and put it in water and syringe feed them it?
    2. (I have syringes by the way )
    3. Could I powder-ize the pellets and pill and syringe feed them it that way?
    4. Any other suggestions?

By the way, crushing the pill and putting it on their pellets wouldn't work, I already tried things like that before.

You can dissolve them in water and syringe feed them if you do it fresh each time. Vitamin C degrades very quickly in water, especially when exposed to light. But it will change the taste of the water, and they may not like it any better in liquid form than they do in pill form.

You can grind them into powder and sprinkle over the veggies. I have pretty good luck with giving mine vitamin C that way.

Next time you may want to try children's vitamin C tablets (not multivitamin, just the plain C). They usually come in 100 mg strength, so you need 1/4 of a tablet per pig. They're flavored to make them appealing to kids, and most pigs seem to like them.

I give a GNC 25mg tablet to my pigs when they refuse their bell peppers. It is a sweet citrus taste and smell.
