    Exclamation Could I use basic bin for cage???? HELP

    Hi I have been reserching guinea pigs non stop for 3 months I really want one and my parents see how dedcaited I am i'd rather have a guinea pig then go on vaction somewhere so we have the money for it But then I saw a video on youtube where this girl was showing her rountine and I looked in the backround and she used a basic bin for her cage not a small one a really nice one it seems like such a great idea I really wanna just get a bin and do what she did put some fleec and Im good I just wanna know if it would be dangorus for them (p.s this is my first post on forum I'm falling in love with it ) thanks and pleasse help

    If you are talking about a Rubbermaid or Sterilite bin with solid sides, that really doesn't offer enough air circulation for a long term cage. Plus they can't see out and enjoy the world and they need to be part of the action. They can't do that if they are blacked out on all sides.

    What type of bin are you talking about? The best thing is to make a C&C cage- you can get grids for really cheap and use fleece still!

    I wouldn't recommend ANY bin. They aren't good for the health of guinea pigs. Just purchase some grids- they are going to be just as cheap or cheaper than a bin most likely.
