I just figured out how to make a freaking post 5 minutes ago even though ive been on this site for a while so if i do something wrong sorry...
Random problems are showing up on my piggies and there are NO VETS try it go look for one in 78130 cant be done there are none
First a few months ago my guinea pig red panda had ring worm and a uri i bought her not knowing again not vets and no rescues i took her back and just bought her again after they treated her and that vet that did only sees animals that belong to petsmart so i wanted to punch her in the face but...
But now red panda has an ear infection always walking around with her head to one side and shes losing fur on her nose :(
Charcoal just out of no where got some kind of cyst or tumor under his chin :'(
and i cant help but feel like this is my fault. a guinea pig i got 2 DAYS AGO fell off my bed (less than 10 inches off the ground) and has been limping since 9 pm now its 2 am
she kinda pulls in up and down like shes scared to walk on it when i feel it she sqeeks in pain
and im at a freaking dead end all i can do is cry and thats all i think about cause i cant help them there are no vets and dont even say give them away they are my therapy pets but anyways
i have 6 and only 3 are sick im worried for the others please there has got to be something i can do without driving 3-4 hours or spending 80 dollars per guinea just to be looked at at the dog vet....

Google small pet vet. "Exotic" vet will bring up reptile vets. If you can't find one that way, contact a dog and cat vet and ask them to recommend a guinea pig specialist. That's how I found my vet.

I have no idea what you searched for in Google but I found quite a few putting in your zipcode and exotic vet. I hope your last sentence doesn't mean you will not spend the money to seek medical help.

As to the problems your pigs are having, they all sound like pretty run of the mill typical pig ailments, to me. It's unfortunate they are all happening around the same time, but I get the impression you think they are extraordinary or something other than typical issues, and from what you are describing they are fairly common ailments/injuries. Frustrating, sure, but nothing too upsetting beyond that.

As to the '80 bucks a pig comment,' that is a typical vet fee, whether you're seeing an exotic vet or a run of the mill cat and dog vet. The more animals you have, the more you can expect to pay in vet bills eventually.

Okay call the PetsMart vet (Banfield) back. They have to have a vet that they send the store animals if they cannot help them. If there do not have a name of a vet. Try calling the actual PetsMart store. The pet care department should have a list. I work in pet care at my local PetsMart and we have the name and number of an exotic specialist and an emergency vet. In my area our Banfield vets are pretty well educated on exotics, but we have one in particular that actually specializes in them. One of the Banfield vets helped me try to save my precious Radley. When there was nothing else she could do for him we went to the specialist.
