My boyfriend doesn't pay much attention to them unless I say " oh look arn't they cute". He covers the pen that surrounds their cage so that the dogs bother them less. I'm in the over 40 crowd as well.lol

My husband doesn't do anything with the pigs. He claims that he doesn't like them, but I catch him watching and grinning when they are having floor time. But he says that he loves that they make me and our son so happy. We are in the 30 age range. Son is in the under 13 age, but he does not post on here. Just me!

LOL. We are opposites. My wife says the same thing, but I catch her watching them when she thinks no one is looking! lol

Our son would rather have the pigs on the floor than play outside or watch TV. We've only had our guys for about four months, but isn't it amazing how much they grow on you so quickly? I can't imagine not having them around!

P.S. I'm proud to represent the minority here! LOL I am under 30 male, and the only poster in our house.

I am from South Africa and was just wondering if anyone else who answered this poll is from my side of the world. Extremely hard to get things for Gizzy my Guinea Pig here - not very surprising as she is the first Guinea Pig I have ever seen!

Oh my, only 41 people are in my age group!

:( no option for free range so i couldn't check a box. A very interersting poll none the less. Only 2.93% from europe. Poor me.

My husband is just as excited about the pigs as I am, we built the cage together and he's very excited for their homecoming this weekend. :) It's been a few years since I've had piggies, the first time they've been the only pet in the house! I had issues when I was younger with my cat trying to get at my pigs... :(

Haha, there's less people from Canada than Europe. Poorer me!

Damn 88% females i feel outnumbered

It's okay! Both my pigs are boys!

lol i'm an english girl living in new zealand, and have 2 boy piggys, it's nice to come on here and not be outnumbered for once

"Have cage that meets site minimums or more"

What are the "site" requirements?

What if I don't meet them?

Let's see. 21 female from Canada. My piggie lives alone(since I'm not really supposed to have him in my apartment plus its tiny no space for more right now) in a C&C alternative.

I'm a 19 female from Canada planning on pigs soon, if I ever get that pet-friendly apartment!

I am average on all points with this poll! ha ha
This is very fun to see the many people from around the world on this forum! How fun!

I feel a little awkward that i'm in the minority for a lot of these. :p

I'm a 19 year old male, living with some friends in an apartment in San Antonio. My cage is too small for now. I don't know why I have such an affinity for small furry creatures (thankfully so does my girlfriend) but for over a year now I've had hamsters and just got my first guinea pig.

I just turned 24 in May and I am female....live in the US (currently living in VA). I have a Midwest Guinea Pig habitat right now for my two girls and plan on making my first C&C cage mid-July and I can't wait!

I wish my husband was like yours! Mine could care less about my piggy girls :(

I am 36 and Female. I live in the US. I am a preschool teacher. I have 6 guinea pigs right now. I think if I had a larger place I would have more. They are very addictive. I have two stacked 2 by 5 C&C cages. I am going to expand soon hopefully when my new 2 are done with quaratine. I love this forum. I hope everyone who owns or is thinking of owning guinea pigs checks out this site. I bet is has changed the lives of many guinea pigs over the years.

I would agree! Its changed nh whole understanding of guinea pigs and now my mom hates going to the pet section with me in Wal-Mart because she gets a whole lecture on why the colored food and the stuff with seeds and nuts are bad :)
