Thanks! She just had a vet visit last Friday and the vet said she reminded him of a groundhog. Now I can't look at her without thinking about a groundhog! I don't have a picture of my Kiwi but she is tricolored (black, white, and red), almost looks like a calico cat. What would she be considered?

Yes, thankyou WillowFields :) It certainly is a Golden Agouti American. The base color of the hair is black, with a red tippings.

the 'calico' one would be a TSW (Tortoiseshell and white)

xD haha of coarse. The Abby up top would be a Tortoiseshell, the American looks like a black Dutch in this picture, but I think I've seen other photos of your pigs and it almost looked more chocolate then black??? And the last piggies is a Self Black. :) hope it's useful
Moo is a more chocolate to dusty black in color, it depends on the picture.

I've been told SO many different things from friends, breeders, etc about my Duff pig. Since you seem to be the expert, what do you think? Thanks! :)

Crappy photo, but I wanted to show the fact that he has markings and isn't a self.

Your guinea is a Golden Agouti and White Broken. The Golden Agouti is the brown color, and it means the base of each hair shaft is black, with a red tip color. :) Hope it's helpful

Then I guess I'll let you call it. If it looks like a very, dark, rich brown then it's most likely chocolate, but if you think Moo is more like a dusty black then its black :) Sometimes blacks can looks a little dusty which is called smut.

Can you please do my sister's pig (Deli)? She's listed on the second page, and she has three pigtures! :)

This is my sister's guinea pig, she wouldn't let me take a new pigture but I had some from earlier in the year >:) and coloring doesn't really change unless they go from baby to adult and it darkens, so...
Could you do her? I'm posting a few pigtures so you can see as much as possible.

Sorry they turned all funky. The left side is all white, and her feet are pink as are her ears, and her eyes would be classified as Dark. Thank you :)

I am soso sorry I'm getting back to this one so late, I don't know how I missed it. Anyway, she would be an American for the breed, and her coloring in a Lemon Agouti/Red/and White Broken. The lemon agouti is the greyish brown color, it means the hairs are black with a cream tipping, and then the red is just that one little spot under her eye. Broken just means it's patches of multiple color. Hope it's useful :)

What are my ones? :D I know that Pepper (One on left) is an american short-hair but not about his variety, and I think Chillie (One on right) is a Teddy?

Sorry for getting back to this late, but yes your right, Pepper is an American, and Chillie looks like a Teddy to me. Pepper's variety would be a Lemon Agouti/Cream/and White Broken. Broken is when there is patches of different colors, so the lemon agouti is the greyish color (each hair is black with a cream tip) and the cream is the light creamy color :) Chillie is a Red and White Broken.

Thank you for finally doing it, to say the least! ;) I'm going to copy this and send it to my sister's account so that she can know firsthand. I did think she was definitely American (I know the others look like little poufs) but the color pattern was something totally new for me. She was a lot more complex to do, because of all the different patches and things.
The lateness is okay, I just feared you would never get to it lol.

@MizzyMiz I was just wondering if "ridgebacks" are considered Aby's? I have a new baby and she has 3 ridges but since you told me that ridgeback is actually not a breed, I'm not sure if she's aby. Thank you so much for your help! 100_7968.jpg100_7992.jpg100_7998.jpg

Lovely pics! She's adorable!

This article is interesting: (broken link removed)

There is some recognition for them elsewhere, but here in the US you'd probably just have a perfect abby-american cross.

@cavy_jdas thank you so much for the link! That is exactly what I needed to know. It's so weird to me that she is just a mix breed but I have seen several pigs with the EXACT same 3 ridges she has! I would think that the ridges would be more random than that....

I am curious about my new boy Ozzy and his odd mishmash of genetics. He has a long butt skirt that is difficult to take a picture of fully.941775_10151569291382570_1412472880_n.jpg901049_10151569291282570_1955753254_o.jpg

I'm curious, can you tell Danu's coloring from this photo? I've been told golden agouti.
