I want to get my guinea pig (Casius) a friend, but i'm not sure if two males can be housed together. Casius is 6 months old. What age should the other male be???

He should be older and bigger.
Oh really? Thanks, I thought it had to be younger.
Yes, You should get a male that is older than your 6 month old. Usually, older pigs will look after and protect younger ones, rather than fighting them. Good luck!
I had the same thing but the male that was going to be added was younger that bubble guine and they just always fight, they stop when food is in front of them but then they fight again.
Well mine is pretty big. Do you think they will still get along?Originally Posted by love4pigs
You also have the possibility of waiting a few months a younger male than your present one, but an older one would be better
Thank you, you guys have been alot of help.
People have also told me that two males will usually get along if the cage is big enough, and if there are no females around. I just completed my cage and it turned out to be 2x6. I think that will be enough room for them. Im hoping they will not fight.
That is plenty of room! They'll love it
I have a 2 year old. I gave him 2 friends. One is 3 months, the other 2 months. My cage is 3x4. The younger ones chased each other, pushed against each other, nipped and chatteted for about one day. They never out and out fought or drew blood. They are now good buddies. My 2 year old is very laid back and he has from the beginning been ok with the 2 younger boys.
Mine is really laid back. Iv'e never seen anything like it.
