Yeah, I am not gonna worry too much if she doesn't show much interest in the veggies while she's quarantined because I know that once she gets in with a friend, the other piggy(ies) will teach her all about the greatness of veggies. (My SIL and I are both saving this pig. Right now we are not sure which one of us she will live with. My SIL will be keeping her for the quarantine time. She has a lone piggy that we rescued from the humane society a few months ago and she was going to be put in with my 4 girls but she attacked. So my SIL took her home with her and built her her own c&c and was hoping to find a friend for her that she will be nice to. She is quite the moody little thing so hopefully she will get along with this piggy. If she happens to not like the new piggy either, the new piggy will come to live with me and we will try to put her in with my 4 girls. I have a 2x6 main floor for laps and an attached 2x5 for the kitchen and sleeping area so it is plenty big enough for 5. Surely one of our homes/herds will work out! Sorry so long, just felt I should explain what is going on.)

"So we didn't buy it again." Sad, sad, sad.
I have to avoid CL too. That is how I came to have six living with me. One snuck in under the guise of being a lady. (always turn over and view their "other" parts). I would have brought him home anyway. He needed food. But really, so glad each came to my home when they did.
So looking forward to pictures of Phoebe. Lucky little furry one, finding her/his way to your home.
We are getting her in about 4 hours. Time is going by sooo slow LOL! Wow, the pig ate all the hay so they didn't buy more. People are absurd! It's so sad....but glad you have given 6 piggies a great home and they don't have to suffer anymore!

    Re: saving a CL pig

Did you go in the house and see the rabbits too? Were they as bad as it looked in the photo?

I'm soooo glad you got her (and I'll bet she is, too). Anxiously awaiting those pigtures.

She met us at a gas station so I didn't get to see the rabbits. :-(

She is really scared right now but we got her to nibble on a carrot so that's promising!

Let us know how everything goes and post pigtures when the piggy is all settled in
All three of my girls are from Kijiji and lordy some of the ads there, honestly if I had infinite space and money I would just take them all. I always look on their first - provided it's not a breeder - only because I know rescues know how to care for piggies and have their best interest at heart. Most owners want to quickly dump the pigs they don't have time for or kids got bored of already.
Why do people stink more than a guinea pig cage that's never been cleaned before >:[

LOL! Thanks! That was the only way I could think of to "test" them to see if they were a breeder. MY SIL has Phoebe and will be introducing her to her single pig next weekend. I really hope everything goes well! Phoebe had her vet visit and she was deemed healthy except her feet were in REALLY bad shape from the aquarium floor and she was extremely under weight and malnourished. The vet said she probably wouldn't have lasted very much longer where she was. And I agree, people do stink! (you made me laugh with that comment!) Definitely made me glad we were able to rescue her! She is super sweet! She loves to run her laps and popcorn and wheeks for food now (girl loves her veggies now!). Will definitely post pics after her introduction with Beyonce!

    Re: saving a CL pig

Just wanted to give an update on Phoebe. She is doing amazing! Apparently we didn't quite save her soon enough because we found out today that she is pregnant and due in a couple weeks. Hopefully everything will go well. Here are some pics of her and her roommate Beyonce (and don't worry...Beyonce is a female and that has been verified by the vet...she got pregnant before we rescued her).

She is gorgeous. And I'm with @foggycreekcavy that aquarium wasn't big enough for her, let alone for babies O.O can you imagine her fully pregnant trying to live in that little "cage" >.< I don't even want to think about it, let alone after the babies were born.

Yes, you could imagine my horror when I saw that pic! We had her the next day. Thank goodness! I just hope everything goes okay with the delivery and everyone is healthy.

She's adorable! I love how she knows that the best hay is at the top of the hayrack, even if it all appears the same to us humans.
