A while back I had made a post about my Peaches possibly being pregnant. Some said yes she looked it and others were a bit worried it could have possibly been cysts. :\ Fortunately, she was pregnant. She actually just had them! Not one but two adorable babies. I haven't taken them out yet because I have no clue what to do now. I need advice because I have never been in the situation with newborn pups. I have some many questions...am I allowed to hold them with them being new born? Will Peaches become angry towards me if I hold them? Is there anything special I need to do or buy for them ex. food? When will I be able to tell their sex? I'm a noob at this..sorry! I had no idea that she was pregnant when I had gotten her. I will appreciate any advice or help I can get! Thank you. ❤️

When I know I am able to hold them I will get pictures!!

You can hold them. Moma will not get made at you. You will need to baby proof your cage. They can get thru the grids and get hurt. You can overlap the grids or put cardboard around your cage.
They can eat pellets and veggies right along with moma. Cut them small.
Also lower the water bottle so they can reach it at their level.

Cant wait for pictures.

Also, if you haven't already, their hay or pellets should be alfalfa (rather than timothy). Alfalfa contains extra calcium that growing babies need.

@suzilovespiggie's suggestion about babyproofing is definitely a good one. Always hold the babies over a soft surface and not high off the surface as they are quick and can hop out of your hands before you can blink.

at 3 weeks I belive they can get your females pregnant if you have males. So you will want to sex them. Guinealynx has great sexing info, if you are not sure you need to have an exotic vet sex them. You don"t want peaches backbred.

Here are some photos of the babies! The little white and black one is a female. The other is a boy I think. I don't know what to name the little girl yet but I love them! :D

OH BOY I'm dying of cuteness right now!!! :melodrama

Remember to be VERRY fragile with them... Don't let 'em looseish when you're carrying the pups. VERY FRAGILE (Just like any other guinea pig~!)

Have fun with them:))

Super cute babies!! Keep checking their gender to be sure - it'll be more obvious once they're older (closer to 3 weeks).

Very cute! FYI - it looks like the food you are giving them has seeds and stuff in it. They should have plain pellets with no seeds or colored bits as it's not good for them

Good catch! I was too distracted by babies to even notice. Anything with colored bits and seeds is pretty much guinea pigs junk food. A pain pellet food is much better for them. ^_^
