I have 7 girls and found the 2 grid width too narrow so I made this 6x4 attached to a 2x4 on Saturday. Also not a fan of fleece.

So I tweaked our cage again since we have officially become a herd of 6!

We have a 4x5 grid bottom with a 1x2 loft

After working all weekend on my skinny pig Mr. Susan's new cage my boyfriend and I finally finished a while ago! Quite a few hours put into it. Don't have space for more than a 2x3 with a loft right now, but he is loving the new space, and I'm loving the storage underneath. After lots of brainstorming on how to make the ramp we finished that tonight and I cut his new fleece and its looking so good! He was curious but didnt know what to think about the ramp at first. It took coaxing him up and down with a carrot twice and then five minutes after I came back over to his cage and he had walked himself upstairs on his own and then came back down for some hay. Spoiled guinea pig. :) Threw in a pic of him eating just cause hes so cute. Right before that picture he was running zoomies all over the cage, that was 2 nights ago when he first got in it. :)

Awwww he's so cute, you did a great job with the space available. I'm curious about how he got his name lol.

Here's a guess--you thought he was a girl when he was a baby. Then when you found out he was a boy, you added the Mr. What a great name!

2016-11-13 18.54.02.jpgThis is part of an old bunkbed that we had been using as a toy storage area in the basement. It's now the piggy mansion. My boys were fighting a great deal in their smaller digs, now they are getting along "Ok." Some days are better than others, but no blood shed.

Here's my first attempt for my two boars. It's triple level with a 2x6 base, two 2x2 lofts and a top kitchen layer of two 2x1 lofts. 24 square grids total:

I have a new shipment coming in that will let me turn the current cage into a 2x9, with an additional 2x2 loft on the second floor. Two of the three 2x2 lofts will also be directly combined into a 2x4 loft. 34 square grids total.

That cage is pretty wild! How do you clean it with the tops on? I added a loft to my cage, but took it down after 4 weeks of not being used.

I have the opposite problem, they spend too much time in the lofts!

Re: cleaning, the whole lid flips up, so it's easy to reach in and clean the upper two levels. For the bottom level, we take off two side panels and then just slide out the corex. Easy!

Adding a bit more this week, so I'll post the pictures!

There came a point late last night when I was sitting *inside* the cage that I though this project might have gotten a bit carried away...

Regardless, here it is... a piggy palace!

20170119_114056.jpg20170119_114107.jpg20170119_114123.jpg20170119_114131.jpg20170119_114138.jpg

2x8 grid base, a 2x2 loft and an L-shaped 2x4x3 loft, as well as two 1x2 feeding lofts. There's also a built in tube run and a balcony. Additionally, I've upped the safety features, adding more support bars and internal grids so that the pigs cannot possibly fall anywhere. There's also an under-croft for storing pig supplies.

Cleaning is only marginally harder, the cage must now be pulled away from the wall to clean the biggest loft fully, and also to slide out the bottom layer.

Never again!

This is my cage for 2 sows, a 2x6 grid cage with a 2x2 offset hayloft with a one grid high stand. I made the the liners and all accessories except for the toy balls and the wicker hidey.
