I wish there was something like that around here. Where do you live?

I don't think so. That dosn't make it a shelter. What you are refering to is a pet shop. Sheters require contracts and applications.

Where do they get their gps?

Where does the donation go? That is still too low, less than snake food.

How in the world did you all understand what in the world the original poster was trying to say?

I would not call a pet store and rescue shelter the same thing...

It wasn't easy. Winnie has been told numerous times by various members to use proper capitalization, punctuation and grammer. She has received an official warning from me about it now. I expect to see a marked improvement in the legibility of her posts from now on. If not she will not be allowed to continue to post on the board.

So please Winnie. Take a few extra moments and check your punctuation and grammer before posting.

Just as an example Winnie. This is how the above quote should look. I highlighted everything I had to change to make it legible in red.

Ahem. It's "grammar" not "grammer". *COUGH*

    Re: Guinea pig speicalist store

We are talking about consistant, noticible mistakes that change the flow of the reading- not occasional spelling mistakes that humans make. What Voodoo did was minor- and not something to rudely point out- to a mod no less.

It wasn't rude. Am I not allowed to say something to a moderator in case I offend them?

I don't quite know what this means- if you have offended a mod, I would apologize.

    Re: Guinea pig speicalist store

The moderator openly corrected the opening poster's spelling, in the process spelling something wrong herself. I would have thought that issues like that would have been taken off-board, instead of taking the thread off topic. I've been on the forum here for two days, and I took the moderator's example to mean that I could do the same. I'm sorry that you perceive it as rude (as it really wasn't intended as being so), if I offended YOU (slap_maxwell) or ANYONE then I apologise. This post is definitely the first and last time I post an opinion on here!

The topic of this thread is not the spelling. Opinions for things other than cavy care go in The Kitchen. Enough hijacking now.

    Re: Guinea pig speicalist store

This was quite entertaining to read, but really hard to follow.
i think it is important though to keep this chat room like it is, with proper grammer and waht not, because that is one of the reasons i like it so much. Its just not a bunch of teens talking in slang and everything.

I did not correct the spelling. If you look back at the post I left the spelling mistakes alone as I figure everyone makes spelling mistakes at some time or another and I do not consider it a big deal.

What I fixed was Punctuation, Capitalization and Grammar (did I get it right that time?)

I would not have had to correct it openly if Winnie had paid any heed to the previous suggestions and warnings that were given her on this issue by 2 moderators and several members.

I have no problem with someone telling me I'm wrong. However, I consider your cute little comment petty. Did it in some way make you feel superior?

    Re: Guinea pig speicalist store

Yes, we all make mistakes. For example, my word that I always spell wrong is problem. I still have to look it up everytime I want to use it and I always try to think up another word to use other then that.

Now back to the thread, I also agree with Cavybree and I believe this is to good to be true.
