Is this safe for a toy?

I found a scarf made of fleece thats about 2 feet long. Theres an opening at both ends that I can stick my arm through, and there is a slit near one of the ends (I would have to cut the ends of the slits so that it wont fork the tunnel though) But the fleece has also been fringed at the ends. Its just fleece but its been cut so it looks like fringes.
Anyway is this safe for a toy?
I will post some pictures in a minute so you can have a better idea of what I mean.

Is there any way you could make it somehow stay open? I'd be worried that one of the pigs would get scared half way through, panic and get stuck (I know my pigs would). But other than that it sounds great!

    This is the scarf.
I can stick my arm in it and still have some tons of room (you cant tell cause the rest of it is hanging below my arm.
See how its frayed at the end?

    Here is the slit.
But at the slit it forks off, the "tunel" still goes all the way through, but I'd have to cut where it forks so its the same length all the way through. I think the slit might be nice cause they could poke their heads out...I might cut the slit bigger if it looks too small.

    Sorry for my crappy pictures.

Piggie, it stays open pretty well if I fold one of the ends back. The main thing Im worried about are the frays. I think it will be fine but I am a worry wart.

I don't think the frays would be a poblem at all! Seems like a great tunnel

YAY! Lol, like I said, I am a worry wart. Ever since I learned how easily dangerous things sneak there way into guinea products I have to triple check everything I am thinking on giving them.

Why are the slits there? and why is it open, like how you stick your arm through? Just curious!

It's not a bad thing to be a worry wart, that's for sure! I have a blanket with those type of frays on it, the pigs love to play with them. I'll hang the blanket over a chair or something and make a tent, they will run through the frays, move them around with their noses and popcorn like crazy!

Let me know how your pig(s) like the tunnel.

If the fabric moved around and they had their weight on it, I wonder if they could strangle with their head poking out of the slit.

Re: Is this safe for a toy?

Ok I will let you know.

Pinky, yeah I worried about that too . So I cut the slit bigger. My piggies arnt so fat that their necks can get stuck in the size it is now. Its a little over 6 inches now. That big enough?

Edit: oh great now im worried again . Maybe I should just cut the slit through all the way till the end. That would still leave about a foot and a half of solid tunnel.
