    My girls won't eat Oxbow!?

I cannot get my girls to eat Oxbow to save their lives.

i've tried mixing the oxbow with the food they were on before (what they were on when I got them) and they eat some and as soon as they figure out oxbow is in there they stop.

Butter will go to the food bowl and wheek and wheek so I add some oxbow, she smells it and wheeks and walks away so I call her back over and add some of what she ate before and then they both start chowing down!

They can't keep eating their previous food, it isn't healthy. I just wanted to make the food transition slow, and they won't eat anything new.

    What do I do?
What are some other good healthy pellets?

Kleenmamas (online order) is the other best option. Mazuri 5664 (ONLY 5664) can be given. Since Mazuri is an alfalfa based pellet it needs to be limited to 1/8 cup/day.

Have you tried switching them cold turkey? They may eat it if they are hungry enough.

but what if they don't eat it.

Cold turkey makes me nervous haha.

Since butter and hannah are sick, they have to eat.

Pellets are the least part of a pig's diet.

Since pellets are the least part of the diet, as long as they have unlimited hay and proper veggies, they will be fine if you try to do it cold turkey.

Mine wouldn't eat it at first either, but I couldn't bring myself to buy any of the crap they had been used to, so mine went cold turkey off it. I think it took four days before they tried the Oxbow. Now they can't get enough of it.

Just give it time. If they want to eat nothing but hay and veggies for a few days, they can do that.

My pigs also didn't eat the Oxbow at first. I tried mixing their old food with the Oxbox, and still nothing. So I switched them cold turkey and after about a day they started eating it. If they're hungry enough, they will eat the pellets. Since then I've switched to Kleenmamas, which my pigs chowed down immediately.

I did a "side-by-side" taste test (actually mixed together) of Oxbow and KM pellets. My boys picked the KM pellets out and left the Oxbow.
