Small, black bugs in cage
I noticed a couple of these very small, black bugs in my guinea pig's bedding a couple of weeks ago. Now, there are like 50 crawling in the corners of the cage. There aren't any on the pigs, and some in the bedding and their bowls. What is the best way to get rid of these things?

Find an organic, non-toxic way to treat your house.
Completely clean your cage while your piggies have floor time. Use vinegar and water on the cage bottom and rinse it out as best you can after.
What kind of bedding do you use? You may want to check the package and see if there are any of those bugs there.

You need to find out what the bugs are to make sure you get rid of them once and for all.
Your vet could probably tell you what the bugs are and how to get rid of them. Take a few to the office and see what they say. They could just be ants or small beetles that are just looking for leftover food. Make sure there is no old food under the bedding or under the cage that is attracting them.
Good luck!
