fat vs. pregnant

i got a new piggie about two weeks ago and i cant tell if she is fat or pregnant. how can i tell?

i know some people say to check the overal body of the piggie, but i still cant tell. what should i be looking for?

IM not sure but you could just feel her stumach and see if there is any move ment like kicking or something.

Is she pear shaped? At first I thought my sow Agnes was just getting fat too, but then I found a photo of a pregnant piggie online-and that's what she looked like. Sure enough when I got home that night I could feel the babies moving inside her! If she's bulging out on the sides then she most probably is.

Um... my pigs aren't pregnant(trust me, I would know, I have had preggy pigs before), but really fat! They slim down if I can't feed them in the morning, and then fatten right back up when I do feed them!! It's so weird.

My pig fells like she is pregnant, but she isnt. They can trick you.

If you absolutly cant tell you could always take her to the vet.

well i have had a pregnant piggy before, but she only had two pups so she was kinda small. she does look a little pear shaped (which got me thinking she may be pregnant) but i cant feel anything moving in her.

in my other guinea pig, i could feel the babies a lot.

im worried because she was a rescue pig, so im not positive about her age. i dont know if she has ever had any litters before so i dont want to put her health in danger.

I would go to a vet just to be certain. Better safe than sorry.
