Question Red Eyes ~vs~ Colored Eyes?

Does anyone know why some GP's have red eyes while other's do not?

I know that albino bunnies have red eyes, and most of the GP's I have seen that have red eyes are mostly white, however earlier today I was in Petco (okay, I know, but they had a sale and I got Reeses his new comfy couch for only $4.00! I could not resist!) Anyways, so I went to check on the piggies, and I saw a piggy there who was this beautiful shade of greyish/brown, but he had red eyes ...

I don't know for sure about guinea pigs, so feel free to correct me if I am wrong, but in rats, red/pink eyes are a normally occurring eye colour, likie blue eyes in people. In fact, a white rat with pink eyes isn't even necessarily an albino. It's impossible to tell without genetic testing, because both white fur, and pink eyes, can be normal. a white rat with pink eyes is often just that-- a pink-eyed-white rat.

Red, pink, and ruby eyes are all natural occuring colors for guinea pig eyes.

2 of my girls have very light pinkish eyes:

The Dilute factor in guinea pig genetics not only dilutes the coat color from black and red on down through tan and cream into white, but it also dilutes the pigmentation of the eye.

Pink eyed whites are not albinos.
