Hello !

I am a 38 year old woman from Sweden.
I recently became a Cavy mum to Ebba and Elvira ,
I do have a site with pictures of them both but the text is in Swedish...:silly:

Well, I do have a custom cage , 120 x 60 but as I thought they needed some more running space I also constructed an extra space out of metal shelves.
They really love that extra place to run around in... 170 x 80 about the size of the extra area.

They are so sweet my little girls!

Were did you buy metal grids?

Hi !

I bought them in a local secondhand store.

can't simply find the Cube grids that makes lovely c&c cages....:sad:
but I won't stop looking.
Meanwhile I have gotten old metal shelves from a second hand store that i have scrubbed and cleaned befor using them. It works for now and the space for my girls got doubled!

I bought my grids in Sweden, at Rusta in Nordby. Don't know if they sell them anymore though.

I am thinking of looking into what kind of shelving Ikea sells ...

Maybe you could use grids made for making compost piles?

In Norway they sell them at stores like "Biltema" and "Plantasjen".

I bought compost grids last year to use as short-term outdoor pen when I'm at my Moms house (the green pen to the left, the silly dogs were not included )

Yes Anja - that is also one idea - only no shop has them right now ...
some kind of seasonal thing with those ... but seasons change....


On a littel side note:
Some jerk attacked byethost6 server where my Cavie pic page is at and I lost it all.
Luckily I have back ups !
