Hi, we are making a C & C cage for our piggies. We want to add a second level to it but don't know if they would use it. It would be about a foot tall. Anyone have experience with guinea pigs using second floors and ramps? Thanks!

It may take time, but they'll use it. Especially if you put some food up there.

I originally had a ramp in my c&c cage, they loved it. I think they liked observing the whole cage from a higher level. I think a ramp would be a great idea. My guinea pigs had a habit of jumping off of it, which is fine, as long as it is not too high, I think.

It's actually not good for them to jump off a ramp. Their backs are pretty fragile.

But you can put sides on the ramp, and a fence on the loft, and that will stop the jumping.
