Hi all, first post on here!
I have two lovely rescue piggies, they approximately 1-2 years old now per the adoption center. Presumed to be sisters. I've had them for 7 months now and for the last 2-3 months they have been displaying a (now predictable) harmless dominance pattern where one will chase the other with occasional mounting of the other. It always last 2-4 days and then stops. No true fighting but just a lot of running around. Then they will stop and go back to normal (non-dominance cohabiting) for a few weeks before repeating this again.

Is anyone familiar with what this could be? It's definitely one piggie who starts it and gets the other fired up. The instigator piggie is definitely moody during this period as she doesn't want me to pet her or pick her up for those days.

Thank you all, ladies are good, but this behavior is odd and confusing (and frustrating!)

Seems normal to me. You can think of it as piggie PMS.

I've never had females, but this sounds like normal heat cycles to me.
