Hi! Our 5.2 year old piggie (Yancy) was taken to the vet yesterday after showing signs of lethargy, wet chin, and mucousy nose, having small dry stringed together poop, and a puffed appearance. He was prescribed a low dosage of Baytril and was given IV for fluids and a vitamin booster shot I believe. This morning he’s showing more activity and is eating and drinking on his own although a bit slowly (he’s always been a slower eater compared to our other pig and housemate Nibbler!).
While we are still hand feeding Oxbow Critical Care and water, I wanted to see if it would be beneficial to provide Oxbow Natural Science Multi-Vitamin (one of those crunchy oval treats) as a daily treat to help ensure he’s getting his daily intake in?
He only weighed 1.4lbs when we brought him in, but it seems like he’s on the upswing already and is receptive to the hand feeding.
Just checking for some advice. Thanks!
