Hello,
I'm new here. My two female guinea pigs of 7 weeks old have both skin problems. My veterinarian won't look at it till Monday. I researched on Google, but can't really find out what it is. I was wondering if some of you have advice.

They both don't seem to be scratching. And they both have it on the same spot, but the other side. One of the guinea pigs has more of a bump and the with the other it is very red. IMG_20210417_145206.jpgIMG_20210417_142851.jpg

The one on the right looks like it might be a gunky grease gland. I'd get some Nizoral shampoo, soap it up good and let it sit for a few minutes, and then rinse well. Then after it's dry post another picture so we can see exactly where on the pig it is. Close up, well-lit picture.

The one the right might be also, but it also looks possibly infected. Can you post a closer picture, that's well-lit?

Thank you for your answer. The wounds are on the side of the lower back of the guinea pigs. So I'm not sure if it is possible to be a grease gland then?
I will try to make a better picture of it and post it here!

Here a few pictures where it is more clear where the wound is placed. And one more zoomed in. IMG_20210417_214011.jpgIMG_20210417_215030.jpgIMG_20210417_215109.jpg

I think the lighter colored one definitely needs to see a vet. That's an open wound that could easily get infected, and is probably the result of a bite. And if you're gonna take one in, you might as well take the other.
