I got a skinny pig at petco, she still eat, barley move, trouble breathing, and sneezing so I take her to the vet and they said it might be Upper Respiratory Infection/Pneumonia and they give me some antibiotics but if she doesn't get well in 4 days should I just take her back to the pet store and make them take it to the vet? hasn't been 14 days yet until next Thursday.

I wouldn't waste your time going back to the pet store. They'll likely just exchange her, and she more than likely won't survive. This is one of the big reasons why we ALWAYS encourage people to break the cycle, and get pigs from a rescue who need and deserve a furever home. I know that isn't what you want to hear.

If she is on antibiotics, you SHOULD start to see an improvement in 3-4 days. But the antibiotics will likely upset her tummy so she may stop eating and if she does, you will need to hand feed her with critical care and a syringe. By handfeeding I mean force feeding. Guinea pigs are hardwired to always have food moving through their stomachs and if she doesn't eat you will lose her.

What antibiotic is she on? Is your vet an exotic specialist, or just a small animal vet?

See if you can check the bottle to see which antibiotic she's on. Did you get Critical Care from the vet? If not you need to do so before there's a problem.

As I said, you should start to see an improvement in a few days, and maybe even as little at 24 hours. But do make sure she's eating and drinking. These are the most important things besides her medication.

Good luck and please keep us posted on her progress. We're here to help if you need it.
