Hi! My daughter just adopted two guinea pigs from the shelter yesterday and wanted to make hidey houses out of the craft popsicle sticks she has. After an internet search I did find that giving Guinea Pigs these to just chew on isnt a good idea since they splinter and can hurt them but has anyone had any experience on them being used to make stuff for them with that will go in their cage? Wanted to get other peoples experiences since this is our first time owning them. Any information would be appreciated!

I never had any problems with them. But you should check and see what kind of wood it is because guinea pigs cannot have pine.

I've known of pigs injured by having them chew on them. I wouldn't risk it.

thanks for the reply. The more and more I read I think we’re just going to steer clear. Would hate for them to get hurt.
