Hello all. I have been buying the pine bedding from Walmart and have recently seen that pine and cedar are not good the only acceptable wood shavings are Aspen.

The pine one I have been getting is kiln dried and says no dust. Is this still not good or is it okay?

Thanks,

Davey

It's not only the dust that's a problem, it's the phenols in the pine -- the stuff that is the pine odor. Over time, it causes liver damage as well as lung problems.

I'd definitely get my pigs off any pine products unless there's absolutely no pine odor to them.
