So my boar Truffle was neutered 5 weeks ago now and I've been checking him down there weekly. I last checked him on Sunday and today (Friday) I just noticed this on his balls.

I feels hard if I touch it so I'm worried its an abscess but he's also had surgery 5 weeks ago so it could be stitching or something.

I'm worried about him and also worried that it's going to cost me more money even though its probably related to the neutering, is this the vets fault if it is an abscess?

Would appreciate some information, he's eating and behaving normally but today he's been funny about me picking him up which is how I noticed it.

There's no way to know whose fault it is, if anyone's at all. But he does need to be seen by a vet. If there's infection in there, it needs to be drained, and flushed regularly. He also needs an antibiotic.

Don't wait around. An infection can overwhelm him pretty quickly.

The 24 hour vet wants to charge me £110 just for a consultation, can it wait until tomorrow or is it really urgent?

I have no idea, just feel very overwhelmed.

I'd probably wait until tomorrow. 24-hour vets aren't known for their guinea pig knowledge, and he might not get good care.

Can you take him back to the vet who did the surgery?
