I have two girls getting close to six years old. So I guess I would consider them kind of elderly Guinea Pigs at this point. They always get great check up from the vet though. I’ve kept them at my preschool for several years. They are now enjoying a fine retirement in my office with me right now, kids visit them every day. But at their age, I don’t really want to put them in the classroom full time. I’ve been hunting around for a new young pair for the classroom, and it’s taking me a while to find the right thing. I found two that I love but they are boys! I haven’t had boys before. If they grow up together and the cage is large enough, is it likely they won’t have any aggression problems? When my girls were younger, they had their moments, like I could not put one of those little tree stump looking hides in because there’s only one entrance/exit and one of mine would bully the other. So I know in general we need to be observant and take care of little problems, but I was a little nervous about getting two males and having it not work out. They are together now. Also is there any other reasons to think boys wouldn’t make just as great of classroom pets as females? Thank you!
