Hey guys! Soon I'll hopefully have enough to finally get Cupcake a bigger cage! Yay! You know what that means? I'll also finally have enough room to get her a friend! So... I have a few questions. How do I introduce them? I read that you have to introduce piggies like most other pets. (Basically, not letting them see each other. But letting them smell each other. For instance, By putting them in rooms that are really close to each other.. Actually.. That brings me to my next question...) So.. What do I do if I can't put her friend into the nearest room?
Okay, well, actually, I technically could, but that room wouldn't be a good place. That room is the living room and there would only be two places that I could put her. Directly next to the heat vent, or directly next to the TV. (Which I should tell you is basically always on, and always at around 40..) What do I do then? Would I be able to leave them in the same room? Because my room is basically the best place for her. There's also the dining room, but I don't know if that's an ideal place. It's just about the farthest room from my room (Where Cupcake's currently at) and since it's going to be summer soon, it's going to be really hot in there... Please answer! I really don't like seeing Cupcake alone! She really needs a friend!
Also, I have one more question. It's not really related to this one but it also is..? Sorry if it's not. But I feel like I'm not supposed to make two posts at once, lol...
So. I heard that some Piggies prefer to be alone. How could I tell if Cupcake is a loner too? I really don't want to get another guinea pig if Cupcake doesn't want it. Okay, wait. Let me rephrase that. I don't want to go through the process of adopting, then bonding one just to find out that the other one doesn't want any friends. Then the second guinea pig wouldn't have anyone to play with and I wouldn't want that. I'm only asking this because Cupcake doesn't really seem to like people already. She doesn't like to be pet, she doesn't like floor time (whenever I put her on the floor to play, she immediately runs back to her cage), she doesn't like to be held... But she does love playing with toys on her own though. Whenever I give her things like wicker balls or treats, she plays with them. but only when she's in her cage. If she's not in it, then she'll either stare at you, or try to go back to her cage.
