Eye problem. Opaque, crusty. What’s going on here?

One of our piggies has an eye that is crusty and a little opaque. Any idea what’s causing it? Suggestions for what to do?Click image for larger version.

she is eating normally. Poop is ok. Other eye looks ok.

They scratch themselves occasionally so I’ve been watching that wondering about mites? Would mites cause a crusty eye?

Looks like a hay poke to me. Eye injuries are painful. She needs to see a vet ASAP before it gets bad enough to lose the eye.

The vet can prescribe drops to help.

We went to the vet. He confirmed the eye had a scratch and prescribed Ciloxan .3% three times a day for 10 days.

Looks better already at day 2.

And he said Oreo is a beautiful piggy! :)
