    Sharp hay!

This may seem like a strange question, but can hay be sharp? I buy Small Pet Select Timothy My last box was fine, but this one feels sharp (not just rough or corse) and sometimes gives me hay “splinters” if I step on it barefoot. I don’t remember my last box of SPS hay being so sharp.

Is it safe for her to eat being like this?

This may be first cut hay, and your previous hay may have been second or third cut. The later cuts are softer than the first.

And yes, it's safe for her to eat. Do watch her carefully for hay pokes, though.
