Hello, I recently got a Male Abyssinian Guinea pig that is a year old, His name is Kevin! We bought him a large cage, but he still seemed very lonely. So, we bought him a buddy. He was a smaller Agouti Guinea pig baby, they LOVED eachother from the first minute they met! Unfortuinately, the newer pig got a BAD URI and only showed signs once he was too far gone, we ended up getting 2 brothers, they are both self crested. They where turned in to a pet store by a family who had their parents as well, but couldn't take care of them. So, we where just going to get one of the brothers, but we decided not to separate them. We bought both, and when we introduced them to our current piggie, they fought a bit, and a LOT of humping happened lol But now they couldn't live without eachother! Anyway, the reason I am worried is because one of them has one blue eye, and one brown. My initial thought was "he is blind.." but I pushed that idea out of my mind. However, I am now looking at him more, and You can tell he gets spooked SUPER easily, unlike his brother. I took pictures of all three pigs, with flash. Two of them had red eyes in the picture, the one with the blue eye came out with no red. And his pupils don't change at all when light is shown into his eyes. I wanted a second opinion, and will it cause him any trouble in the future if he is blind?
Here are some pics:
This is Tom! He is super healthy! He Wheeks whenever he hears any sort of bag crackle! And he is big haha
This is Kevin, Super sweet and very quiet
Kevin and Tom love eachother
The cage!
This is the blue eyed one, only this eye looks like that.( Sorry for the blurry pic, as I said he won't stop moving as he is spooked)
Thanks,
~Abigail
