Hello cavy friends, do you recommend the midwest cages for two guinea piggies?

If so what size, and where is best place to get one?

They're not really large enough for two. The minimum recommended size for two pigs is 7.5-8 square feet, and the largest Midwest falls in between that. Larger is recommended.

I ordered the extra large one times two, so i can link them together into an L shape or just connect long ways for them to run around in. Hopefully they'll be comfortable. Concerned they might be nervous since its a new cage but we will see.

Thanks for the advice!

I have the exact same ones in an L shape set-up! If you have the space for it, I think long ways is the best for them to easily run through both. The ramp that connects the 2 definitely takes away some space but they are really convenient and I haven't had any issues with them so far. :)

Midwest is said to be "8 ft" does anyone have the interior size of a midwest? Where does it rank in sizing between a 2x3 & 2x4 (in terms of interior space)?

@bonbonandco, please don't make duplicate posts. The people who read the forums read all the new posts, and there's no need to post the same thing twice.

A midwest is considerably smaller than either a 2x3 or a 2x4 C&C cage, and is really not large enough for two adult pigs. It's barely large enough for one. It is especially too small for two boars.

Sorry- I made my original post before seeing this one and thought it would be more relevant to mention it here.

I compared sizes and it looks like a midwest would be at least bigger than a 2x3 CC, no?

I may be a bit off on the inner dimensions of a Midwest cage, but not by much. The outer dimensions are 47 x 24, and I think the inner dimensions are 45.5 x 22.5. That makes the inside square footage 7.1 square feet, which is less than the recommendation for one pig.

Grids are 14 inches square, not 12, so the square footage of a 2 x 3 is right at 8 square feet.
