I have 4 Guinea pigs one is 2 years old, and the other 3 are 1 year old. I have noticed that they have been gaining a lot of weight, and I saw that pellets usually have a big role to play in this weight gain. So I was wondering how much pellets I should be feeding my piggies. I usually guess around and put a handful per pig. Thank you for reading and hope you can help! ;)

Pigs should get roughly 1/8th of a cup of pellets, per pig, per day.

Feeding pellets to 4 pigs at once may be difficult to police, however. What do your pigs weight?

Thank you, and all the 1 year old Guinea Pigs weigh 2 pounds. The 2 year old weighs 2.8 pounds. Thanks for the information! :D

Just remember that pigs are just as different as people. Just because they've gained weight, doesn't necessarily mean they are overweight.

Also, lower quality pellets can be especially fattening.... just in case you aren't using Oxbow or KMS already, I'd like to highly recommend switching to them! They're both excellent. Other pellet brands are too high in corn, calcium, and fillers.

Do they have plenty of running room in their cage?

Oh my gosh..Oxbow pellets made my piggies very happy.
