Absolutely devastated. The only way to describe this. He had only just turned 3.

We tried so hard. So very, very hard. I just don't have the words to describe how painful losing him is.

He was such a happy, bubbly boy. We always knew he was up after a nap because he would come running out into the pen, babbling away. If Scooter was in the cozy, he would lie next to him, guarding him and staring at him. Looking after his brother.

There is so much about him to write. And I'm hurting so badly I can't think of anything to say. My precious Punkin bum, my Chunky Monkey, Chunkmonster B, my little Monkey Bum, is gone. The void is immeasurable.

Rest in peace, precious. We love you so very much. Losing you has gutted us. Scooter is lost without you, and so are we.

We love you more than you could ever know. Til I see you again at the Rainbow Bridge......

Just seeing his precious little face I can glimpse his special personality and understand your pain. You fought for him and with him as hard as you could. We've loved and lost so many pets over the years as well...why our time is shorter with some than others I'll never know. But I know time does heal, and I know more little paws step into your heart again even when you least expect it---- some point, someday.

This line has always spoken to me; it's part of a longer poem: " Do not stand at my grave and cry/ I am not there/ I did not die "

Words cannot express how sorry I am to hear the news... I know we have all been following your journey with Punkin these past weeks, and we were all really hoping for a better outcome. You both fought so hard, and it's so exhausting, body and soul, I know. This is a line from the book Watership Down that I always think of whenever I lose one of my pigs, maybe because it relates specifically to the loss of a small animal (it's a story about a community of rabbits), but also because I feel it's the closest that I can come to describing that ripped-out-heart feeling: "My heart has joined The Thousand, for my friend stopped running today." - Hazel the Rabbit

I am so so sorry about Punkin. I was really rooting for him. He was such a brave little piggy, and I'm sure he hung on as long as he could out of his love for you and yours for him.
