I was wondering if you need to take your guinea pig for an annual vet visit. I take mine when they are sick, so most of them go at least once per year, Bitcoin i do have two that haven’t had any health problems, so i haven’t been taking them to the vet and I’m thinking since they are a bit older, maybe it’s a good idea

I never took mine for annual checkups. Only if there was something wrong.

I take mine in once a year whether they are exhibiting any health problems or not, especially if they are more than two years old. We call it a "well piggy exam".

I never took mine unless they were exhibiting signs of illness.

I’m glad to see this post and get opinions from experienced owners. The last checkup my guinea pig had was at the shelter before I adopted her, so that’s a little more than 2 years. I was feeling kind of guilty but thought since she is active, vocal, and eating well I don’t know what the vet visit would accomplish. And I always worry about exposure to something like bordatella.
