I’m planning on eventually having like 5-6 guinea pigs ((1 neutered male and 4-5 females)) I know bigger is better but could I do a 4x4 c&c ((21.778 sq ft)) where I’d only have to make one table for the cage or should I do a 3x6 c&c ((24.5 sq ft)) where I’d have to make 2 tables?

Bigger is better, especially for that number of pigs.

If you have the room, go as big as you possibly can. '

I have two boars in approximately 40 square ft.

Would the 21 sq ft be big enough though? Cause unless I’m unable to find 5 ft wide plywood I’m gonna be doing th 4x4 c&c

You won't find 5 foot wide plywood -- it comes in 4 foot by 8 foot lengths. But you can get 5 feet out of the 8 foot length.

Ok I guess I will be building the 2 tables then instead of one :(

You won't regret giving them the most space you can. While it can sometimes make cleaning a challenge, they will be MUCH happier and healthier for it.

Cleaning won’t be the issue it’s gonna be figuring out how to rearrange my room maybe while I’m figuring things out I’ll just go with a 3x4 c&c split into 2 3x2 c&c cause I won’t be getting more piggies until he’s neutered and she’s off pregnancy watch anyway and then I’ll add on if needed in the future

I agree that bigger is always better. The more space your piggies have the happier and healthier they will be, along with quality care and plenty of fresh veggies:D

3x2 is bare minimum for 2 female piggies. Of course, bigger is rcomended for 2 piggies, especially to fit hideys and food bowls and still have a good amount of space for them to run in.
Right now it’ll be 1 piggy on each side with each side being 2x3 and once she’s off pregnancy watch and once he’s 6 weeks post neuter in a few months from now then it’ll go to a 3x4 c&c ((16sq ft))

Okay awesome! 3x4 is a great size cage for two piggies!
Yeah and if I do end up adopting more then all I’ll have to do is build another smaller table and add on

I just recently got my 4th pig and expanded my cage out to be 4 x 4.5. Our newest, Cinnamon, is a 4 month old baby and she loves to zoomie around. Felt like in a 3x4.5 cage she just didn't have enough room to zoom around.

Right now they are each going into a 2x3 soon and depending on what the babies end up being and how many there are it’ll either stay 2 cages ((if there’s 2 males or a male and female baby)) or Furby will get neutered and the cage will be combined into one 3x4 cage ((2 females))
