My oldest female recently had a litter of three, healthy babies. This was less than a week ago. Now she's been laying down whenever she isn't walking around. She'll lay down to drink and eat as well. She'll even come out of her hiding area and lay in the open. I have never seen her do this before so I'm just wondering if this is anything to be concerned about or if she's just used to the babies nursing so she lays down for them.

I think I'd want her seen by a good exotic vet. She could have bits of retained placenta, which would make her eventually very ill. She could have so much calcium loss that her bones and joints are giving her problems. An x-ray would tell you a lot, and the vet would be needed to evaluate whether all the material was expelled from the uterus.

Thank you for letting me know. I'll look for a good exotic vet in the area and get her checked out.
