    Making a Kitchen

So I've gotten my cage set up, and I'm planning on making a kitchen for it. The guinea pig rescue I've visited uses the bottom part of a store-bought cage for their kitchens. I'm thinking of buying a cheap, shallow cat box, but I'm not sure how to allow the piggies to get inside. I have two ideas, but I'm not sure which one is better.

    1) Using leftover coroplast to make a ramp. I'm not sure how I would make it stable enough.

    2) I could cut a large hole in the side to allow for easy access. My only concern is that the cut edges could possibly harm the piggies if they brush too close to them.

What do you guys think? Has anyone had success in using either method?

Unless the pigs are seniors, they can probably hop in the cat box just fine. But if not, you can cut a hole in the side. They're not apt to hurt themselves brushing up against plastic.

It should be fine to cut the edges. I like to use this edging around cut coroplast to protect sharp edges as well as discourage chewing:

Put a treat in there and they'll hop right in!
