Feet Can electric nail trimmers (for pets) damage nails?

I have on pig who has some very thick nails, and she absolutely hates the pressure from the cat nail trimmers when I do this. She is also very bad at holding still, to the point where I cannot trim nails by myself.

I have used this on both of my pigs a few times, and I do make sure to get the right angle when filing them back. I have noticed that my older pig (5.5) has rather fragile nails, especially her front ones, but this was the case when I first got her a year or so ago. Two of her back nails have also recently chipped off to a shorter length.

Would the electric trimmer have anything to do with this? Old pig thing?

Thanks.
