My pig Bacon has bald spots on her side, back of neck and butt. She isn't scratching them and they're not red or inflamed. What should I do?

Do you have any pictures of the affected areas? I don't know much about skin issues but pictures might help another user : )

Yes, do post pictures. It could be a vitamin deficiency.

How old is the pig?

Does she live with another pig?

I'd start with the assumption that it's a fungus, and treat for that. Get some Nystatin or Lotrimin and apply sparingly twice a day with a q-tip, rubbing it in well. Do this for a week or so and see what happens. If the bald spot gets larger, the switch to a triple antibiotic cream and treat the same way.

We start with antifungal medicines first because antibiotics can sometimes make a fungal infection worse, whereas a fungal medication won't do anything to a bacterial infection.

Then watch and make sure the others aren't barbering her. I don't think that's the problem, because the barbers don't usually do that good a job of getting ALL the hair in a spot off. But maybe.
