I know a healthy diet is unlimited hay, plus ~1 cup fresh veg and 1/8 cup pellets.

I have a little garden and I have started growing some healthy grasses for my pigs. Mostly, I cultivated a patch of meadow grass that was otherwise bothering my lawn, then discovered a patch of Timothy grass in my front garden and transplanted it and cultivated that too. Plus regular old Kentucky bluegrass (lawn).

The boys go absolutely NUTS for the fresh grass and consider it a treat... to the point that I keep a supply of fresh in my fridge.

My question is... does this count as unlimited hay? Or limited to a cup with their veggies?

i admit they are currently getting more than a cup at a time, though not unlimited.

It counts as unlimited hay, not a veggie. But start them on small amounts and work up -- too much fresh grass when an animal isn't accustomed to it can cause major digestive upsets.
