General Strange black ghost FLOWER :(

Hello eveyone.
I am new here and actually i liked it a lot :cool:
i have 2 guinea pigs brothers.
weeks ago a strange black flower started to grow up in thier cage, i took it out 6 times the last 2 weeks but still growing as if it come from the cage (wood). it grows up in 2 days looks creepy and scarry :(

Ok so from my knowledge of plants that I have, that is a fungus or mushroom. I'd suggest until we figure it out remove your pigs from the cage and place them in a temporary cage. It could be bad for them to stay in the cage with the fungus. Also keep a close eye on them in case they ate any of it. If they start acting "funny" or "off" take them to a vet.

Also could you get a picture of the underside of the fungus and a picture of it next to a ruler of something for size reference. It would be very helpful in my search to find out what it is.

I found a pic online someone said it was an ink cap that was about to die. pretty sure its not that but we have an idea

Im not facing any problems with the plastic cage :) this is good :D

From what I read the fungus was caused by the decaying of your wooden cage so changing to the plastic solved your problem and you shouldn't ever see that fungus again.
