Haha it's ok, the Pignic was fun but it was SO HOT! They are going to try and have it a later weekend in September for next year.
It's true that Piggles has stopped taking in pigs. They go by Piggles CARES (Cavy Advice, Rehoming and Education Service). They are partnering with a different rescue though. All Creatures Rescue now handles all the guinea pigs and is just led by a different person. They are a great rescue and share all the values that Piggles does, so it's nice to know that there is still a solid rescue running. They just do other critters in addition to guinea pigs!
I'm not exactly sure why they went in that direction. But I'm pretty sure they were having really slow adoptions and a ton of people were returning previously pigs in all different states. I imagine it can become quite draining and frustrating after a while.
