Hi, i'm hoping someone can help. It's probably nothing but its better being safe. I noticed this morning that my guinea pig has a scab on his lip. It looks like when we bite the skin off our lips. It isn't affecting his behaviour. I have another male guinea pig who he shares a cage with so i don't know if they've had a spat and he's caught/bit it. 32944436_1685810758122671_8490292918395863040_n.jpg

My bet would be on boar glue. He's either glued himself, or his buddy has glued him, and the skin was pulled off when he scratched or bit the hardened glue off.

But just in case it looks infected, see https://www.guinealynx.info/cheilitis.html and compare to those pictures.

Ooh ok, thankyou that helps alot. It doesn't look infected or like any of the photos on the site you sent so it will most probably be boar glue. I'll keep an eye on it to make sure it doesn't get worse. Thanks :)
