Talking Candida Yeast Infection in Guinea Pigs and Itrafungol

I just want to post this here as my piggy had a candidiasis infection diagnosed by a throat swab. Hair loss in a V shape and sores were the symptoms. She was misdiagnosed as having mites at first! I was worried as the vet prescribed Itrafungol 0.64 of a ml once a day for 20 (or 21?) days straight with no breaks. (She's a heavy pig!) I know even with cats, after 7 days they get a break on this medicine and I was worried! We tried searching and nothing came up in our searches! So I want to leave this here.

The Itrafungol did cure her, she tolerated it fine and she survived the 21 (20?) days straight! The vet said things were different with guinea pigs and she shouldn't be given a break during this medicine. She is fine now!
